Data Scientists for Big Data, IoT and machine learning projects

  • Full-time

Job Description

This is your opportunity to join an international organisation where we are already working with data analytics and machine learning projects. What does that mean for you? Well, it means that you will team up with colleagues, so you can share and grow your knowledge within the data science field. It also means focusing on using data from an already existing infrastructure where we collect data from more than 100 sites worldwide.

So, if you like working creatively with data analytics, big data, machine learning, visualisation, NoSQL databases, and data analytics, this is your chance to innovate, develop and test concepts for products and tools – and in the process, develop your own skills further.

Join a large software organisation
You become part of our data analytics department. Here, you join a new, small and agile team of highly sought for data scientists. We work in the same offices as our main software organisation with an additional 125 colleagues. Together, you have the freedom to develop solutions across the organisation focusing on creativity and innovation on the conceptual stages of possible new products, services and tools.

In our software organisation, you will find a multitude of skills and competences, and we enjoy an informal atmosphere where we combine our strengths to create brand new solutions for colleagues and customers. Moreover, you become part of a data analytics forum where we work closely with universities to expand our knowledge.

Create value through data across the organisation
Through a continuous dialogue with our business and product development, you will be responsible for defining new products, services and tools based on data and machine learning. We are a large organisation with several specialist fields, which means that we can enjoy the value of data analysis across disciplines.

We have a strong preference for open source software and are working with tools such as Tensorflow, the ELK stack, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Python, Java, R, Shiny and Jupyter notebooks. You will test and implement prototypes, e.g. for customer solutions or for your colleagues to provide them with the right tools to perfect their work. As such, you bridge the worlds of product development, subject specialists and technology to innovate the business. Other areas of responsibility may include:

  • Initiating mining of existing data from material handling systems running in production, looking for possible bottlenecks, optimizations etc.
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Participating in the maintenance of the existing data pipeline
  • Participate in defining and evaluating new techniques for data collection and analysis
  • Drive the rollout and extension of our data collection to all sites in the BEUMER Group

Experience with data driven decision making, big data and concept development?
Most important to this role is that you have a good all-round technical foundation, allowing you to implement software, configure tools, understand our domain and be a sounding board in the creative process. To do so, we also imagine that you:

  • Hold a master degree as a computer scientist, engineer, physicist or similar.
  • Have a great understanding of and hands-on experience with using data analytics for system and concept development
  • Speak and write English fluently and it is a big plus if you understand Danish as well

Personality-wise, you are a strong communicator who can work across the organisation and with customers. Your strength is within innovation and creative thinking, which shows itself in added value in the concept development process and tests.
