The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for managing overall Professional Scientific Services (PSS) within Germany.  This includes operations, business development monitoring and support, client service engagement, creating and monitoring metrics, and leadership, morale, and development of scientific teams providing services in biopharmaceutical client environments.   Eurofins offers as part of its laboratory offering Managed Insourcing Services named, Professional Scientific Services (PSS) when clients prefer to keep service needs in-house.  PSS is the leader in offering insourcing managed laboratory services to the Biopharmaceutical Industry.  This newly formed country role is due to our current and future expansion in the Germany market. 

The PSS Manager is responsible for creating teams with the support of the PSS Senior Director, Country Managing Director, and PSS HR support through recruiting, training, and leadership.  The PSS Manager is responsible for implementing new projects with clients, agreeing upon KPI’s, handling implementation, and client education to ensure compliance with the insourced model with utilizing PSS teams, and ensuring leaders and teams are fully engaged, motivated, supported, and developed.  PSS teams are comprised of Eurofins full-time technical staff and on-site PSS leadership who provide distinct scopes of work services to support Biopharmaceutical clients with their scientific initiatives.  The PSS Manager is ultimately responsible to directly manage on-site PSS leadership and to ensure proper implementation, operational and legal compliance within the model, operational excellence, and highly engaged teams to exceed our clients’ expectations.

• Create and implement PSS business development strategies
• Implementation and expansion of projects; Introduction and monitoring of the project-specific KPIs
• Recruiting and onboarding of new employees
• Leadership (regular discussions, coaching, development)
• Creating offers, contracts and invoices
• Collaboration and reconciliation of requirements with customers (Scope of Work Definition)
• Establishment and maintenance of customer relations

• Studies in life sciences
• At least 3 years of professional and managerial experience in the aforementioned areas of responsibility
• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and medical technology industry (including quality standards, especially GMP)
• High service orientation due to direct cooperation with the customer
• Independent and flexible working, excellent communication skills
• Very good German and good command of spoken and written English
