Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare responses to audit inquiries including Information Document Requests (IDR) and Notices of Proposed Adjustments.  Manage the audits in full accordance with company values and ethics.

  • Maintain full record of consistent audit issues and develop process improvements to eliminate repeat risks. This includes, but not limited to, review of purchases for overpayments and underpayments of Sales Taxes.  Filing the appropriate refund claims with taxing jurisdictions and make the necessary General Ledger accruals for the underpayments.

  • Research and analyze relevant tax laws and regulations on such matters as nexus, taxability of services, tangible purchases and other audit defense issues related to Sales/Use Tax and Property Tax.

  • Collaborate with internal partners on indirect tax matters to identify their tax needs and effectively research and apply tax theories and strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.

  • Manage the Unclaimed Property compliance process.

  • Prepare the annual Sales Apportionment data for the Corporate Tax Department.

  • Construction-in-progress (CIP)/Software-in-progress (SIP) reconciliations, project management and capitalizations

  • Month end JEs

  • Fixed asset quarterly tax reporting and FLUX analysis

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, and/or other business related fields

  • Indirect tax or property tax experience is preferred 

  • At least 4 years multi-state Sales/Use Tax audits and compliance experience

  • Strong Excel experience

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work well with tight deadlines
