As the Copywriter for SPS, you take educational copy from our internal and external contributors and turn it into inspiring, clear, accurate training materials for both SPS and our clients.  You will rework and contribute to the immense library of educational material for SPS. You love the creative challenge of creating meaningful information that will make others successful with its use. You like working in a collaborative manner in an ever improving model.

You know a lot about a wide variety of dental knowledge (that you dig deep for) and you know how to fill your knowledge gaps. You remove errors from educational information. You’re always looking for ways to better serve our team members and clients.  You know how to work together with a team toward a common goal and have the communication skills that make collaboration easier. You’re unfazed by change, and invite the conversation about change. Above all, you aim to ensure that the content that we produce is impeccable, impactful, and useful.

In this role, you will work with a great team: Director of Content, Copywriter and Illustrative Designer.

The ideal candidate will have a strong writing background with an emphasis on the adult learner, experience in fast-paced publishing environments, a keen eye, a high responsibility drive, a sense of humor and a devotion to the level of quality of the finished piece.

Qualifications

We expect you to:

  • Write educational content for the adult learner (both SPS team members and SPS clients)
  • Uphold the SPS style guide and brand standards
  • Enhance accuracy, accessibility and relevance of content
  • Continually upgrade content while staying informed of industry trends
  • Keep the audience (both internal and external) in mind at all times
  • Look for ways to enhance and improve the educational experience for both the SPS team members and SPS clients
  • Bring your passion, expertise, and willingness to jump in with both feet.

You must have:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in copywriting (adult learning, training manuals, and process copywriting preferred) and a Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, communications or journalism preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to write effective, clear and effective copy
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated understanding of Spear services
  • Openness to change
  • Ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources to develop well-researched, sound solutions to problems
  • Fondness for a collaborative work environment, self-directed work time, and directives to enjoy the process!

Additional Information

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office environment, normal noise levels, comfortable temperature, no extreme conditions.
  • Professional attire required.
  • A personal vehicle is necessary for this position as excursions to local vendors will be required on a regular basis (lunch runs, trips to bank or offsite meetings)
